Lead UI Artist

Summary

We’re seeking a Lead User Interface Artist capable of delivering the UI vision for our NEW AAA Mobile Freemium project.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, clearly experienced and be able to show a strong portfolio of UI artwork, have a passion for UI and a keen eye for detail.

Reports to: Game Director & Lead Artist

Location: Nottingham, remote work a possibility for the right candidate

Contract: Short Term Contract leading to a permanent position Q2 2017.

Experience and qualifications:

  • 2 years of similar experience
  • Strong graphic-design and an eye for detail
  • Strong sense of design principles & philosophy (typography, layout, grid systems, hierarchy, colour, composition)
  • A proven user experience track-record and an understanding of human-computer interaction concepts
  • Exceptional visual communication skills and outstanding skills in designing interaction and visuals for software
  • A positive communicator who is able to lead our UI design style and feel
  • Able to create the game’s user interface, the HUD and other visual elements in order to ensure visual consistency between the various interface components
  • Able to produce clear, informative illustrations
  • Able to make use of user-interface design techniques and concepts to ensure that every architecture- and design-related requirement is met
  • Knowledge of essential software (Photoshop, After Effects, Flash, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) used in animated graphics and in 3D

Experienced Software Engineers

Summary

Super Punk Games is looking for some Experienced Software Engineers with exceptional technical capabilities, capable of intrinsically understanding gameplay and implementing best case solutions to our very unique technical problems.

The successful candidate will be able to help a small team implement their vision, expand our ideas and breathe further life into the game world. This is a unique opportunity to play a big part in The Last Leviathan.

Reports to: Game Director

Location: In our office in Nottingham is ideal, remote working considered for the right applicant.

Contract: Contract or full-time positions available.

What we’re looking for:

  • An experienced software engineer with professional experience in games.
  • A PC or Unity development profile.
  • Excellent C++ / C# programming skills.
  • Successful release of at least 2 games.
  • Someone who is both relaxed and excited about working in a small team, and who is willing to contribute across the board to the game and achieve beyond expectation.
  • Attention to detail, and strong ability to analyse and comprehend direction.

  • Awesome technical insight and a finisher of technical tasks on time.
  • A communicator with the ability to verbalise conceptual thoughts and with an openness to use constructive critique.
  • A gamer.
  • Robust software engineering and software architecture principles and practice.

What you’ll do:

  • You will be a software engineer on Super Punk’s The Last Leviathan game, one of a small team of developers helping to bring this game to life and continue to support our live Early Access game.
  • Assisting the Lead Engineer in support of the overall game development from a programming standpoint.
  • Implement game features alongside engine and tools features within schedule and to an expected quality level.
  • Provide insight to anticipate technical/workflow issues and provide solutions.
  • Optimise and maintaining the existing code base.
